முதலாம் சடையவர்மன் சுந்தரபாண்டியன்,இவ்வாறாக அரங்கனுக்கு பொருள் சேர்த்த விதத்தை விளக்கும் பக்கங்களில், அவன் கண்ணனூர் குப்பத்தை கைபற்றிஅங்கிருந்து பல போகிஷங்களை மற்றும் யானை குதிரை முதலியவற்றை எடுத்து சென்றதை கூறுகிறது ... மற்றும் அப்போது அங்கு ஆண்டு வந்த ஹோய்சலா மன்னன், இரண்டாம் வீர நரசிம்மா மகனான வீர சோமேஸ்வரரனை கொன்று அனைத்தையும் தன வசமாகியதாக முடிகிறது... இதில் வீர சோமேஸ்வரன், (1235–1254) ஸ்ரீரங்கத்துக்கு அருகில் தற்போதைய பெரியார் நகர அருகில் உள்ள வீரேஸ்வரம் என்கிற கிராமத்தையும், வயலூர் செல்லும் வழியில் உள்ள சோமரசம்பேட்டை என்கிற கிராமத்தையும் உருவாக்கினான் ...அதை பற்றிய குறிப்பு சிவன் கோவிலில் காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது ...

it is amazing to know that ...having just three streets now on the way near mambalasalai ... veereshwaram .. smallest nagar in srirangam was created in 1250 and still surviving ...
